FAQs

Since the late 18th century, the Feliu family’s manor house in Porreres, Mallorca, has been known for its winegrowing. However, like many wineries in Mallorca, our vineyard faced a devastating halt in the 1870s due to the phylloxera blight that swept across the country.

For over a century, the Can Feliu wine cellar stood as a reminder of the past with the decline of an industry that once played a vital role in the island’s economy. The once-thriving vineyards were replaced by almond, olive, and carob trees, casting doubt on the possibility of revival.

In 1999, Carlos Feliu, after studying winegrowing and winemaking in the United States, undertook the ambitious task of replanting the estate. What began as an experimental endeavor has grown into the Can Feliu Winery we know today, transforming the landscape and continuing Mallorca’s illustrious winegrowing tradition.
